Can 'True Friendship' exist between ♂&♀?

In our D class, 9 people said true friendship can exist between man and woman, 2 people answered it's impossible. Personally my opinion is "Man and Woman cannot be a friend" Please do not regard me as a kind of psyco or bad-minded guy. There is a reason that I think like this. Frankly, I've never met girlfriend until now but I know many friends whoes gender is female. Whenever I get along with them, I wanna show only positive things about me like dress or habit or appearance (sometimes how hard I tried, I can't improve it.) and so on. I mean I become defensive. I can not tell my troubles to girls, so If you ask me how many female soulmate do I have, my answer would be 'zero' Sometimes I feel really lonely because none of my female friends understand my question give a solution to me. Especially in this case I urgently feel 'Damn, I need some female friends' Brielfly, what I want to talk is my state of contradiction, feel nervous in front of girls, but need girls who can listen my troubles.
